A laboratory of innovation

A centuries-old laboratory that transforms every year into a workshop of creation.

Under ‘Coronation City’

It was in 1880 when Henri Abelé, an ambitious and visionary young man, expanded his business in the heart of Reims, the ‘Coronation City’.

Located at 50 Rue de Sillery, the new address conceals an invaluable treasure. Two kilometres of chalk cellars, dug by hand in the raw rock and limestone.

Plunged into darkness, this underground labyrinth consists of thirty galleries all connected by a long corridor.

Foundation stone of the Abelé 1757 style, this natural setting is home to the wines from their creation throughout their long maturation. Months, years, even decades are essential for the magic to work.

Slowly, the wines are adorned with fine and light bubbles. Resting in their alcoves, they gain in elegance, softness and flavour. A confidential artisanal signature that Nature and Man have offered for more than 250 years to lovers of great Champagne wines.

Abelé 1757, It Takes Time

With precious echoes of the passing of time, Abelé 1757 is one of the finest names in Champagne. Faithful to the philosophy of its founders, it takes the time and the material to perfect its craft.

A creator of great Champagne wines, the House uses its artisanal know-how as a bridge between present and future. Like a fine goldsmith, its work embodies to perfection the creations imbued with finesse and precision.
